Homestake Opera House
This spectacular historic performing arts venue is celebrating 100 years and hosts theatre, concerts, movies, private and group tours, weddings, and presentations year-round – all the while fundraising and restoring each year. It was beautifully built in 1914 by the Homestake Gold Mine, and boasted a swimming pool, library, 1,000-seat theater, billiard hall, bowling alley, social hall, game rooms and smoking lounge. The building survived a devastating theater fire in 1984.
SUMMER TOURS are available Tuesday-Saturday at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00 pm. Admission is $10; free to kids younger than 6. Wheelchair accessible. Group rate of ten people or more: $5 per person.
